We have gotta give it to the man - he is legend. His music revived and reshaped the industry; his dance moves are iconic and patented.
At a very young age he showed musical talent, and eventually rose as the King that he is.
He reaped multiple Guiness World Records, made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, recorded the best selling album of all time, achieved 13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career, and sold 750 million records worldwide.
He donated and raised millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his Heal the World Foundation, charity singles, and support of 39 charities.
He was abused and beaten as a child by his father. His public image was tarnished with several scandals and accusations that never had sufficient evidence. He was overwhelmed by so much stress, and eventually became a victim of drug addiction, which ultimately led to his passing 25 June 2009 at age 50.
His death created massive jams across the internet, and caused severe traffic spikes to sites such as Google, Facebook, Twitter and Wikipedia. His songs instantaneously soared to the Top 100 in iTunes.
MJ is legend.
But even legends pass. He surely is missed. The music industry would have never been where it is now if not for his contributions.
They used to say 'we only miss things when they are gone.' It's true after all.
Rest in peace, Michael Joseph Jackson, the King of Pop.
